Post this , took a break the whole of last week . Last Monday (12th March)was a voluntary sort of break after the Marathon. Post which the rest of the days till Saturday (17th March) was a forced break.
Was quite disturbed about something the whole of last week and just couldn't, rather didn't want to get out and do anything. Bunked office for a day, stayed over at a friend's on another, partied with colleagues, went out with the spouse on day 4 but nothing seemed to work. Was down and out. Thought I'd break this and do something to cheer myself up, on Saturday - may be go for a swim of sorts. And then, came this big bad news of the passing away of a dear friend's father. Quite traumatic it was - she was alone in Bombay and her mother was in a different city with the father. Spent the night with this friend before she joined her mother the following day. The whole night was spent with her as she was on the phone continuously with her sister and mother. The mother was inconsolable from what I gathered from the conversations. Can't imagine what they must've, and are going through. For me, it was difficult controlling my emotions the entire night.
Bawled out on Saturday for most parts of the day and did nothing but lie in bed. Told myself that I'd get out on Sunday morning and thankfully did that and to my advantage we had a training session lined up. One bloody hell of a Kolaveri session running up and down the hill. Glad it helped me recover.
This week (starting 19th March) has been fairly good with the regular running and training sessions. The stamina has improved tremendously and am happy .. super happy!
Here's a pic of the lovely Bandra-Worli sealink that I get to see when I run.
