Six pack Salads.

A few months ago, tired of packing the same cucumber-tomato salad for my husband's dubba had invited suggestions from twitter users for Salad options.

Collated their responses and thought I'd share them on the blog. These are simple-to-make salads.

1. Carrot Kosumalli
  • Grate Carrot
  • Soak Pasiparuppu (Moong dal) for an hour in hot water. Strain & add to Carrot
  • In little oil, fry a green chilli and add the same to the Carrot mixture
  • Add lemon juice and salt
2. Beetroot
  • Grate Beetroot, Cucumber and Carrot
  • Add Lime and salt
3.  Sprouts
  • Boil Sprouts
  • Add Onion, Capsicum, Coriander, Chaat Masala and Lemon
4.  Colourful Salad
  • Cut Onion, Tomato and Cucumber
  • Cut Yellow and red peppers
  • Add Black Salt and Lime juice
5. Garlic-based Salad
  • Grate cucumber
  • Grate two Garlic pods or cut them to fine pieces. Fry the garlic with little oil
  • Beat curd. Add cucumber. Add Garlic.
  • Add Rocksalt, Aamchur (Dry Mango powder) if available and chilli powder
(You can use Cucumber instead of Garlic)

6. Egg white salad
  • Boil four eggs. Remove the yellow bit
  • Cut the whites into pieces.
  • Boil Potato , peel & cut them 
  • Add Pepper & Salt to Eggs and Potato
Update on the fitness regime this week

Ran 10 kms on two days, Cycled 10 kms, Walked a bit, took a break for two days just like that. Looking forward to the run tomorrow.
